Church of Hot Lava initiation rites (Updated January 1,2026)
In order to make sure new members remain active and engaged our church requires all new members to perform the initiation rites listed below. Once preliminarily approved, you membership will be on hold until these rites are completed and you new member bonus and other member benefits will not be available.
The initiation rituals include the following:
‘- Cover your face with orange paint to demonstrate your acceptance of lava’s sacred glow.
- Demonstrate your tolerance of baptism by fire by holding your palm 4 inches (100 mm) over a burning candle for 10 seconds.
- Write Pele is Goddess and Jesus’s half sister on your chest and record yourself writing it personally. Keep it there for 7 days sending a picture each day.
- Recite our mantra “O wa tfu liam” 100 times.
- Find at least three friends or relatives to provide character references in their own handwriting and read them aloud. At least one full page is required from each friend. Letters are to be no taller than 1/4 inch (6 mm). Each person must provide a copy of their government ID and make a short video of themsleves reading the reference alound and attesting to the authenticity of their reference.
- Write a three page statement of faith outlining why you are worthy to join our church and read it aloud. This must be in your own hand writing with letters no taller than 1/4 inch (6 mm). You must affirm your alignment with our church’s Statement of Faith.
Each of these rites is to be witnessed by a church member or video recorded and submitted to the church before membership is finalized and benefits become available. The church will contact you with any questions while your application is under review.
